Letter From the RSL to to Andy Savage SME Tour of Duty 2016

On behalf of the Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-branch Inc., I am pleased to endorse the ‘Tour Of Duty’ bike ride fund-raiser organised by Andy Savage and his team.

We have been associated with this ride to remember for four years now and it has been a significant fund-raiser for the Sub-branch around each ANZAC Day.

As well as raising funds for the much-needed welfare of our veterans, their families and widows, this ride is a practical way of honouring those who sacrificed their well-being, comfort and even their lives for our benefit.

The funds raised will be used for things such as providing aged and infirm veterans with Christmas hampers that add a bit of Christmas cheer to the festive season as well as measures to address their social isolation. The Sub-branch also supports financially other initiatives, such as ‘Mates 4 Mates’, which provides programs to support and rehabilitate younger veterans. The Sub-branch volunteers also ensure that each dollar raised goes that bit further in helping veterans, their families and widows by donating their time and effort in this cause.

The Burleigh Heads RSL Sub-branch Inc. commends this event to all whether they are riders, spectators or volunteers and wishes them all a day of healthy, safe and enjoyable activity and thanks them for their much-appreciated support.
